Her husband's departure for work allows her to reduce the pace of her work a little, but his return with misogynistic colleagues shatters her peace. These flights of fancy are her only escape from the monotonous rhythm of her domestic life. These breaks are unfortunately all too brief as she has to quickly return to her daily grind, akin to the city's lifeline, the local train, enduring and unnoticed.
