From the Gilded Age to the present day, the history of modern United States of America has been one of wealth and power concentrated into the hands of a few families with enormous fortunes.
Harald lives alone in a small cabin. On earth, humanity, animals and vegetation have disappeared. He decides to leave his cabin to search for the remains of humanity. He comes across a curious ghost town. He settles in the city, determined to get it up and running again. But soon strange phenomena will upset this new life.
