The movie takes place in the first post-war winter in the Ussuri taiga, one of the protected areas of the Far East, where there are still tigers. Young biologist Vasily Belov attracts local residents to his side and defeats poachers.
Based on the novel of the same name by I.A. Goncharov, staged by the Moscow Drama Theater named after A.S. Pushkin.
