Poor Nastya is a Russian telenovela originally aired from 31 October 2003 to 30 April 2004 on the STS. Based on the imperial setting of the 19th century, the series reached international success and was shown in Ukraine, China, Israel, Serbia, Georgia, Greece, Bulgaria and more than twenty countries worldwide. With the budget of $11,8million, it is the most expensive Russian television project of all time. The sequel was planned, but had not been made yet.
Oleg, the host of a TV show is asked to cover in his show a new ultramodern amusement park called "Park of the Soviet Period". The life in the park is an exaggerated version of the soviet life - pioneers parading, girls selling soda water on the street, socialist banners are everywhere, communist party decisions, free medical procedures, etc. When Oleg falls in love with a nurse he discovers that the rules of the Park forbid any personal contact with the staff, that was trained to live a very different life compared to the life in the world outside. As he fights to gain the heart of the nurse he finds deep flaws in the Utopian atmosphere of the park and decides he must do something about it.
Rublyovka is a symbol of success, prosperity, wealth, complacency and elitism. This is the world of the richest men and chic women, the most expensive land and the most luxurious mansions, exquisite cars and exclusive outfits. But "Russian Beverly Hills" is only one side of life. There is another - filled with human dramas, difficult life, tense relationships. No wonder they say: "Big money is big problems". Big money is a feeling of anxiety, restless nights, the inevitable envious and selfish women. Big money is expensive toys, which often turn out to be people themselves.
